We don't want American ideas here
Les Arnott's suggestion that we help real refugees is commendable, but there is a fundamental problem with his recommendation for the use of polygraphs, ie, lie detectors. The fact is they do not work.

Hide AdAnother man committed 49 murders but passed the test, while another man eventually proven innocent of these murders had failed the test.
Perhaps he didn’t look on Google where instructions abound as to how to defeat the test.
So let us not bring America’s unscientific ideas over here, we have enough of our own.
