Chesterfield Council leader John Burrows says his town wants to make the approach routes more appealing to potential investors, visitors and residents.

Compare that with Sheffield Council which appears to want to stop IKEA from coming here (because) nothing must detract from the city centre.

Sheffield will review the road system to see if it can stopIKEA that way or study the air quality issue, anything that will stop investors from coming to our city.

We could of course put IKEA and NEXT on the land at Don Valley Stadium, when we have demolished the running track.

That is unless we have a £1 buyer who will, under sufferance, take the stadium off the council’s hands.
