Tony Webber, of auctioneer Eddisons, said: “The fact that these lots attracted buyers is a clear indication of improved lending conditions and increased confidence.”

Eddisons reported that 112 of the 162 lots at their sales in Leeds and Manchester sold for more than £8.2m.
