United fell behind to Ricky Holmes' free-kick but went ten points clear of third-placed Fleetwood thanks to goals from Jack O'Connell and Danny Lafferty.

And Wilder said: We always find a way to win games. I think Charlton have got some good players, but we've got proper players. The players deserve every plaudit that gets chucked their way. We want to be relentless and keep doing what we're doing.

"I wasn't surprised that they came back with a good reaction. Charlton have some good players but, for the last 20 minutes of the first half, we battered them and should have been three or four-one up.

"At half-time, we said 'let's go again' and I thought we were pretty comfortable."
