Gratuitously ignoring WC Fields' "never work with animals or children." maxim, we illustrate what happens when (cue aww) cute kids, kittens and puppies are let loose on gingerbread village.

1875 saw gingerbread man first introduced to Christmas holiday traditions via fairy tale published in St Nicholas magazine, depicted as holiday treat eventually eaten by hungry fox, but only after Armenian monk Gregory of Nicopolis introduced the sweet treat to Europe in 10th century, Shakepeare later offering Love's Labour's Lost bard advice: “And I had but one penny in the world, thou should’st have it to buy gingerbread.”
