Waste given to stranger

A WOMAN has been fined after giving bags of old rubbish to a stranger to dump in South Yorkshire.

Rubbish belonging to Sarah Pyne, aged 20, was found dumped at the entrance to Wombwell Dam on Dovecliffe Road, Wombwell, Barnsley.

Pyne, of Mount Vernon Avenue, Worsbrough, said she had given 10 black bags of household waste and an old stereo to a man who came knocking door to door.

Pyne pleaded guilty at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court to giving away her household waste to someone not authorised to carry it.

Magistrates fined her 200 and ordered her to pay 100 costs.
