Was this Sheffield's cutest snowman?

Snow which nearly brought Sheffield to a standstill quickly vanished today, as the city waved goodbye to the many snow people and sculptures which livened up the landscape.

But as the Beast from the East retreats with its tail between its legs, a contender has emerged for Sheffield's cutest snowman.

This adorable creation, complete with his own micro-sized house and chair, is enough to melt even the coldest of hearts.

Simon Dell constructed the icy critter in the garden of his Hackenthorpe home over the weekend.

He also built a life-sized snowman, complete with scarf and snow goggles, which proved less than popular with his dog Alfie.

"Alfie hated it the second I put the hat and goggles on, and he sat at the door growling most of the night," he said.

Simon added that Alfie showed his contempt for the new arrival by urinating up its back, giving a new meaning to the term yellow snow warning.
