The Cathedral Archer Project (CAP), which cares for the city's homeless people, warned that three of their clients collapsed on Tuesday after taking the legal high.

CAP said that all three of their clients had to be admitted to hospital after suffering seizures and warned that there was a "particularly dangerous strain" being sold on the streets.

Sheffield Recovery Community said that Spice was as bad as any Class A drugs, including heroin and crack, and was causing "real issues" for the city's most vulnerable people.

Spice is a legal high which is supposed to mimic the effects of cannabis, but drug charities have warned there is no way of knowing how dangerous the batch will be.
