Warning over night robbers

PEOPLE walking near Christ Church, Doncaster, at night have been warned to be on their guard after a man was allegedly robbed by a couple.

The man was walking along Thorne Road near the church when he was approached by a woman who engaged him in conversation.

A man then appeared and allegedly threatened him with a cosh and demanded his wallet, which was handed over.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the offence, on Tuesday September 4, and are appealing for any victims who may not have reported similar robberies to come forward.

DS Mark Oughton, of Doncaster CID, said: “This should serve as a warning to the public to be on their guard.”
