Warning over 4x4 thefts

Police are warning 4x4 owners to be on their guard after thefts in Killamarsh and Glapwell.

Two Land Rover Defenders have been stolen in the area since the start of December.

The first happened between 6.45am and 8am on Friday, December 7, off Field Lane, Killamarsh, and the second happened at around 4.20am on Tuesday, December 18 at Rowthorne Lane, Glapwell.

Police are urging owners to park their vehicles in their garages, and to ensure vehicles are locked and valuables are removed.

PC Niki Atkinson, crime reduction officer for North East Derbyshire, said: “In light of the recent incidents we would like to remind 4x4 owners to be security aware.”
