Pools of blood can be seen on the floor inside the Co-op in Blackstock Road, Gleadless Valley, where a man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after attacking officers attempting to arrest him last night.

The man had already attacked two police officers called to intervene in a domestic incident in a flat in nearby Plowright Close a few moments earlier.
