The statement added: “Our local communities have dealt with this disease admirably - please continue to do your bit when you're out and about and help keep these numbers low. It's still out there - enjoy yourself but be safe.”

Earlier this week, the Trust had reported that it had just four coronavirus patients in its care.

On Monday a spokesman said: “At the time of writing, we are caring for four Covid-19 positive patients within Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

"Thankfully none require intensive care and we wish them all the very best.

"It's a new week and the perfect time to remind everyone to continue doing what they're doing - acting responsibly, staying alert and keeping these numbers as low as possible.”

The Trust said that in total on Monday, it had seven coronavirus patients in its care, with a further three at Worksop’s Bassetlaw Hospital.

There have been more than 250 confirmed deaths from coronavirus in Doncaster since the start of the pandemic, but the figure is thought to be higher through deaths in the community and care homes.
