A warning has been issued after a Sheffield schoolgirl was reportedly offered a lift by strangers in a cargo van.
A message apparently sent to parents by Westfield School in Sothall yesterday and shared online said police had been informed and were investigating the incident.

The message, which was headlined 'urgent notification' and sent by the secondary school shortly before 10am yesterday, stated: "Please be aware that one of our students was approached by three strangers in a flatbed transit van this morning and offered a lift.
"We will inform all students to make their way home in groups at 1.05pm when the school day ends.

"The police have been informed and are investigating. The student who was approached is safe and her parents are aware."
It is not known at this stage where exactly the alleged incident occurred.
