Warehouse in new site plan

DEVELOPERS Sladen Estates have begun construction of the latest phase of the redevelopment of the former wartime parachute factory site on Wheatley Hall Road in Doncaster.

The two-unit warehouse and industrial scheme is a joint venture with GE Real Estate on a 45-acre mixed-use site, the former nylon and fibres factory area which has already undergone substantial redevelopment by Sladen Estates.

The units, named P90 and P22, provide 90,016 and 22,443 sq ft of accommodation respectively and are scheduled for completion in December 2007.

Simon Lewis, development manager at Sladen Estates, said: "The new units at Quest Park are the latest phase of this major development. They join 650,000 sq ft of refurbished warehousing which we have let to TNT, a new car showroom for Audi, a new showroom and body shop for Toyota and a four-unit Trade Counter scheme with tenants including Dulux Paint.

"In the final phase we will be developing an office village which will provide a good balance to the development and create an interesting mixed-use business park."

Quest Park is being jointly marketed by Sheffield based agent M3 and Doncaster based PPH Commercial.

Toby Vernon of M3 said: "This is a superb development for Doncaster and is already receiving strong interest from occupiers.

"The Doncaster area has seen a huge amount of development within the large scale logistics sector but far less which caters for local, indigenous business which is where we are seeing demand coming from.

"Sladen Estates have an excellent reputation for building higher-grade commercial buildings which has already been recognised by interested parties."

Tony Chappell of PPH added: "The decision to build the units speculatively is great news; it really helps potential occupiers with their planning if we can give them a firm date for completion, and of course seeing the buildings going up always adds an extra buzz to a scheme."
