Volunteers pick up litter from streets of Rotherham

Have your say

Forty volunteers took to the streets to pick up litter to improve their community.

The event in Eastwood was also attended by councillors, Rotherham Council Assembly officers, Streetpride workers, wardens, South Yorkshire Police and representatives from the Integrated Youth Service, the local Children’s Centre and Rotherham Ethnic Minority Alliance.

Coun Barry Dodson said: “Residents know the council doesn’t have as much money now because of the Government cuts.”

More litter-picks are planned.
