Volunteers needed to help at Sheffield hospice’s city stores

Sheffield’s St Luke’s Hospice is looking for volunteers to help staff its Nether Edge and city centre shops.

The chain of 12 St Luke’s shops is one of the charity’s most important fundraising projects, annually raising more than £1 million towards the £5 million needed to keep the Sheffield hospice open.

However, the shops depend on volunteer assistants and both the Nether Edge and Pinstone Street branches need new faces.

Tracy Raybould, volunteer development manager, said: “We particularly need volunteers for Fridays and Saturdays, from 9am to 1pm and 1pm to 4.30pm.

“We do welcome volunteers from as young as 14 and there is absolutely no upper age limit at all – all you need is the enthusiasm to join part of a hard-working team.”
