Streets were looking neat and tidy in part of Sheffield after residents went on a clean-up operation.

Dozens of black bin bags, gloves and grabbers were handed out as people headed around Westfield to collect and remove old cans, bottles, crisp packets and other waste.

The litter pick covered the Westfield Centre and surrounding area, and was organised by the Westfield Big Local campaign.

Volunteers included youngsters from Sheffield Futures-run youth groups and East Youth Forum.

There were also councillors and students from Sheffield University’s Department of Town and Regional Planning, along with residents from around the area.
