AN ANIMAL lover is to receive a certificate after earning high praise for her voluntary work.
Paula Marriott, aged 46, from Arbourthorne, Sheffield, began volunteering for national pet charity PDSA two years ago after fundraising for the cause for six years.
She will be presented with a certificate for being runner up in the PDSA’s ‘Veterinary Volunteer of the Year’ awards.
Working at Sheffield’s PetAid Hospital as a receptionist, the mother and part-time worker who has two other jobs was praised by PDSA’s Head of PetAid Services Ailsa Jones.
She said: “Paula has shown she is extremely committed to helping treat pets and we’re lucky to have brilliant volunteers like her.”
Paula said: “I’m thrilled my work has been recognised.”
