A HARDWORKING volunteer has been recognised for his dedication and service to RSPB Old Moor nature reserve.

Patrick Harvey is a member of the Wetland Workforce - a group of volunteers with learning disabilities and a part of Barnsley Employment and Volunteering Service - which carries out essential maintenance and quality assurance checks on the reserve.

Patrick, who has been working at the site for over five years, was honoured for his continuing commitment, and awarded a certificate and commemorative badge.

Liane Holdsworth, visitor experience officer at the reserve, said: “We are so pleased to be able to give Patrick this award. He is a pleasure to work with and a great asset to the site.”
