Jack Anthony Enters, who is aged 35 and formerly of Castle Walk, Sheffield, was received the jail term as he appeared before Sheffield Crown Court this week.

It followed him being found guilty of multiple counts of rape and multiple counts of assault at trial earlier this year after he denied the offences had taken place.

Enters abused his victim, a woman in her 20s who cannot be named for legal reasons, over a prolonged period in the Sheffield area.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Ian Chamberlain welcomed the sentence handed to Enters and praised the courage of his victim for giving evidence in court that helped to result in his conviction.

“Enters subjected this woman to multiple rapes and violent assaults and she has shown remarkable bravery throughout this investigation,” he said.

“He is a violent and dangerous man, and I am very pleased he is behind bars for a considerable period of time where he can harm nobody else.”

DC Chamberlain added: “I hope the significant jail term handed to Enters offers his victim some closure and that she is now able to move on from a very traumatic period in her life.”
