Village to hold own ‘Olympics’

WHILE preparations are taking place for the Olympics in London, one Sheffield suburb is holding its own version of the Games.

The High Green Games will be held from noon on Saturday, July 7, at Angram Bank, High Green.

Organiser, the High Hopes Community Group, is calling on all residents of the village to participate in the High Green Games.

Rachel Picken, High Hopes chairman, said: “Every year in July we organise a fun day on Angram Bank Field. This year we thought it would be an ideal opportunity to celebrate the forthcoming Olympics by holding our very own High Green Games.

“There will be traditional games for everyone to take part in, from welly-throwing to a tug of war.”

The event will also attractions including children’s activities, craft stalls, displays and music. For details, email
