GREEN-FINGERED garden enthusiasts are gearing up to showcase their outdoor spaces to the public.

Residents of Ridgeway, Sheffield, are inviting people to take part in a trail which will explore the horticultural delights of the area.

A selection of 14 gardens – from allotments to villagers’ own gardens – will be available to view from noon until 5pm on Sunday. Ridgeway Primary School will also be showcasing their award-winning plant beds and vegetable patches.

The event has been organised to raise funds for Ridgeway in Bloom.

Admission is £3 for adults. Refreshments will be provided by Marguerite Robins, of High Lane, whose garden is on the trail.
