VIDEO: 'That is what four-goal Leon Clarke can do when he is happy, confident and connected with Sheffield United fans'

Leon Clarke showed the player he can be when he is happy, confident and has a good relationship with Sheffield United's fans, with a remarkable four-goal haul at home to Hull City this afternoon.

United were trailing in the game at half-time, before a remarkable four-goal second half send them back into the Championship's automatic promotion places.

Clarke scored all four of United's goals in the 4-1 victory over their Yorkshire neighbours and could have had a couple more, but for good saves from Hull's impressive goalkeeper Allan McGregor.

And James Shield, The Star's Sheffield United reporter, said in our video chat (available above): "Chris Wilder has said this season that Leon is playing the best football of his career and he underlined that today. We saw what he's all about when he's confident, in the right frame of mind, happy on and off the pitch and has a real connection with the fans.

"But above all, he's a hugely talented player and each of the goals he scored were different - only one was possibly a scruffy one, although there's no such thing as a bad goal - but his other three before that were all technically good after good build-up play, and we'e starting to see now what he's all about and what he can do when he's in the right frame of mind, is in a team that works hard for each other and has a connection with the club's supporters."
