Regulars at a Sheffield lunch club stepped back in time to commemorate VE Day.
The special VE day lunch was held for at Friday Folk, a lunch club for the over-60s at St Bartholomew’s Church in Walkley.
The 1940s themed event included lunch, street party and wartime sing-along.
David Rushby, volunteer coordinator, said: “Everyone really enjoyed it. It was just something a bit different.
“We sang all the old favourites like Land of Hope and Glory and We’ll Meet Again. Everyone always says a lot of the other lunch clubs are very bland compared to ours as we do a lot of events. We are also having a 1940s day in June for the Walkley Festival.”
Friday Folk provides a cooked meal and chance to socialise for the over-60s.
