The iconic aircraft soared into the skies above Doncaster to kickstart her final summer of airshows and flypasts.
XH558 will be retired from flying at the end of the summer season but will remain in Doncaster as the central attraction of a new heritage museum devoted to the Cold War aircraft.
With pilot Kev Rumens at the controls, the plane took off for a ninety minute flight with dozens of media crews and aircraft enthusiasts lining up to watch her soar skywards and emit the famous Vulcan ‘howl’ once more.

XH558 was restored to flight following a major engineering project and returned to Robin Hood Airport - her home during the plane’s active life when she was based at the former RAF Finningley - in 2011.
