Vivacity Choir belted out their version of Dobie Gray's 1973 hit 'Drift Away' to unsuspecting customers at a motorway service station in Chester.

The singers were on their way home after taking part in the North Wales Choral Festival, and traditionally stop at the Roadchef service station for refreshments.

Member Louisa Dawn said: "Vivacity’s core values are to have fun, sing well, share our passion for music and contribute to the community.

"We wanted to give people access to a choral experience, somewhere out of the normal context of a concert.

"We’d sung this piece as part of the North Wales Choral Festival in the morning and, being one of our favourites, we wanted to share it with a broader audience.

"We had great fun singing it and got lots of positive vibes from the customers and staff at the Roadchef Chester Motorway Service Area - after a few puzzled faces at the beginning as we started off the rhythm by banging on the restaurant tables.

"This was our first flashmob experience. I doubt it’ll be our last."
