The cute feline was found wandering the streets by an RSPCA inspector and is now in the care of the animal charity’s Sheffield branch.

Adam Spencer, of RSPCA Sheffield, said: “Bowie was found straying and in a bit of a bad way. He was suffering from the sniffles, was lame and slightly underweight.

“Not surprisingly, Bowie was very nervous and untrusting of humans from the beginning and he is taking his time in gaining confidence and showing the staff his true character. He has become much more relaxed and comfortable with the staff he knows and recognises but he is still unsure at being touched and handled so is looking for owners who are willing to continue the daily work that we are doing.”

He added: “Bowie is quite the character and a very inquisitive feline - we are sure that he will be very entertaining in the right home. This gorgeous boy really deserves to find his forever home soon with understanding owners who can give him the time and patience that he needs to come out of his shell in his own time. He is looking for a home with no young children, if any, and he may be best suited to an adult only or very quiet home.”

Bowie is aged four and has no known health issues. Contact the centre on 0114 289 8050.
