A road was sealed off in Sheffield this morning after a reports of a shooting.
Officers were called to Hastilar Road South, Woodthorpe, in the early hours of this morning (July 7) after shots were fired at a house.
Forensic experts are in the street, where a bullet hole can be seen through a window.
A police cordon was in place while but has since been removed and the road is open as normal.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called at around 12.45am this morning to reports shots had been fired at a property in Hastilar Road South, Sheffield.
“A property has sustained damage consistent with gunshots, but nobody was injured.
“At this time, officers believe this is a targeted incident.
“A cordon is in place and officers are carrying out enquiries in the local community to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
The shooting is not the first in Woodthorpe this year. Police were called to reports of shots being fired outside a convenience store on Nodder Road at about 2pm on March 15.
Sheffield men Martin Sedgwick, 33, of Danewood Avenue, Manor, and Lee Wolf, 25, of Greenland Drive, Darnall, appeared before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on June 30 charged with possession of a sawn off shotgun with intent to cause unlawful violence, and handling stolen goods.
Sedgwick is also charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
Both were remanded in custody to appear before Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday, July 28.
