“I have made it loud and clear that my next fight has to be huge,” said the welterweight kingpin.

“I’ve put the pressure on Eddie; he knows he has got to come up with a big fight for me now or else I will be very upset.

“Through no fault of my own, with the mandatories coming round, the last three opponents haven’t been the elite opponents we wanted.

“We have got a bit of breathing space to pick a big name.

“He does want me to fight the big fights; it is not like he is protecting me. He wants to see me being tested.

“I am confident we will get something sorted and I will be in the ring with a big name this summer.

“I am pestering, poking and pushing for the big fight. And, mark my words, I will get it.”

Brook’s first choice would probably be WBC champion Danny Garcia (32+0).

“The green belt is the one for me. It’s the Muhammad Ali belt, the Joe Louis belt,” he said.

Brook is an admirer of 28-year-old Terence Crawford (28+0).

“He is making a big noise,” he said. “He beat one of our fighters, Ricky Burns, and has been looking sensational ever since. There is talk of him coming up to welterweight.”
