‘FirePit BBQ – Smokehouse Bar & Grill’ was officially unveiled by Sheffield Lord Mayor Coun Anne Murphy and members of the Sheffield Steelers.

FirePit BBQ has created 25 new jobs and brings together the expertise of three of the region’s most renowned kitchen and front of house staff.

Head chef Matt Eggo recently returned from a three-week tasting trip to Canada where he sampled the very best of the country’s steak houses.

He cut his teeth in his father’s bistros around the city and has also worked at Smoke BBQ, helped set up a steakhouse in Glasgow and worked more recently at the popular Summerhouse in Dore.

Matt said: “FirePit BBQ is set to take the the smokehouse/BBQ concept to another level. Though Sheffield has a growing number of steak house-style chains, this is going to allow me to truly wow the local audience with ideas I picked up in Canada.”

General manager Richard Bardsley has worked for a number of independent and national operators including Revolution and Stonegate.

Richard said: “I joined this industry because I had a passion for giving people great experiences. At FirePit BBQ first class service will be important as the first class food and drinks on offer.”

FirePit BBQ Restaurant manager Arlindo Gouveia used to lives in the States and has a total passion for smoked and BBQ food: “I’ve one aim in life – to ensure FirePit BBQ becomes the number one destination of its type in the region,” said Arlindo.

Firepit BBQ is also offering waitress bar service from 9.30pm every night.

Over £100,000 has been invested in the FirePit BBQ – Smokehouse Bar & Grill concept. The cutting edge interior design has been delivered by White Design who are responsible for the Pointing Dog on Ecclesall Road and other projects.

FirePit BBQ is priding itself in only using locally sourced meats with all dishes prepared fresh on the premises.
