Serbian international Aleksandar Mitrovic has registered 10 goals in his last nine matches for promotion-chasing Fulham.

Mitrovic, who joined the Cottagers on loan from Newcastle United during the January transfer window, is the West London club’s second-highest scorer behind teenage sensation Ryan Sessegnon.

Lees told The Star: “He [Mitrovic] is in really good form. I watched the game (A 2-0 win over Leeds) the other night and he looked good. He’s a big, strong player and that’s the sort of player that I like playing against.

“I like to have a battle and test myself so I will enjoy coming up against him. I like big challenges and playing against good players.

“I know he likes a battle as well so I look forward to it!”

Fulham, who reached the play-off semi-finals last year, have surged up to third in the Championship rankings following an 18-match unbeaten league streak.

“They are a dangerous team,” acknowledged Lees. “The run they have been on has been fantastic.

“I think everybody has known that they have been a good team in this division for a number of years now. I watched the game the other night that was on TV and they looked very good.

“Fulham are a good team and I think when we played them at their place earlier on in the season, without being disrespectful, I think they had everything but that last bit in the final third.

“They have gone and added that now in the transfer window and they have got that firepower now up front and gone on a really good run.

“They have always been a good team. They play good football and are a very, very tough team.

“For us, it will be a massive test. It’s somewhere to see where we are at the moment. We are judged on being at the top of the table, not mid to lower mid-table.

“We have got to strive to be as good as the Fulham’s in this division.”

Sessegnon, 17, provides Fulham’s attack with plenty of pace and athleticism. The England Under-21 international is equally effective playing at left-back as he is on the left wing.

Lees said: “He’s a very good player. He looked good when we played them down there.

“He’s a great player for his age and you can see what all the fuss is about.

“As a youngster, you can dip in and out of form and have one good game and then off game but I think for the large majority of the season he has been great and that’s surprising at that age.

“There are lots of players who have pace in the division but it’s how you use it.

“He’s clever with it and he has got ability on the ball and that helps. It’s rare that you get both pace, a bit of a football brain and the technical ability.

“He seems to have all of those at the moment but we can affect him and take him the other way down that right hand side.

“Obviously, he plays on the left but our right hand side players can affect him and take him the other way. If we can get him back in his own half then he is less of a threat to us.”
