The Sheffield boxer stopped Brighton opponent Nicky Jenman with a sweeping right hand in the second round at iceSheffield.

Jenman, beaten by Barnsley's Ben Davies in 2013, looked completely out of Cameron's league in skill, size and power.

He was a late replacement - and deserves credit for that. But only that.

It seemed as if he had trepidation in his eyes after feeling the strength of Cameron's body shots and upper cuts before succumbing to the significant second round head shot.

"It was great, for me. I believe I am one of the best middleweights. Now, I believe in myself" Cameron told The Star.

"He (Jenman) was durable but I did my job, I turned up and I did what I had to do. I just wanted to land that right hand, I was sometimes missing, a bit eager, but I just skimmed a left and hit him with the right and it landed.

"This belt, I am going to defend it and go on to bigger and better things."

Promoter Dennis Hobson has told him they will be attending an IBF convention in Italy, trying to raise his profile and secure him the same pathway as he did for Clinton Woods.

Asked who'd he like to face down next, Cameron replied: "Anybody above me I'll take."

Meanwhile, there were emotional scenes after Sheffield's Tommy Frank took the Central Area title off Doncaster's Craig Derbyshire.

The Sheffield Boxing Scene dedicated the win and the belt to gym mate Scott Westgarth, who died recently after a fight in Doncaster.
