Snooker superstar Ronnie O'Sullivan proved he's got a real appetite for this year's World Snooker Championship - eating through the official press conference at Sheffield's Crucible.

While the other 16 top players were preparing for questions from the world's press the five times world champ was happy to munching his lunch.

O'Sullivan, regarded by many as the 'greatest', last won in 2013.

He said: "I rely on belief - if you're good enough on the day, so be it. If not you sit at home watching the other guys sweating it out."

Shaun Murphy, the 2005 World champ who lived in Rotherham, said: "I love coming back here. I was adopted by South Yorkshire when I lived here from 2004 to 2008. And I still get well supported. The crowd are usually on my side, unless you are playing Ronnie of course Then it's a different game."

Defending the title is Mark Selby, current number one and a three time world champion.

Sheffield's adopted son and 2016 runner up Ding Junhui is hoping for his first world title.

Former Sheffield bus driver Brendan Moore will referee the final for a second time, on May 6 and 7.
