VIDEO: Roly-poly so sweet

Have your say

Here is Roly – a dog in Sheffield who has not been so jammy of late and is now looking for a new owner to take care of him.

Roly was taken into the RSPCA centre, Stadium Way, Attercliffe, earlier this year, as his former owner was no longer able to keep him.

Staff at the centre say he is a lovely, friendly dog, who loves to walk and play.

Tony Benham, RSPCA Sheffield branch animal care manager, said: “Roly is a tan-and-white collie-cross, aged about nine. He’s a pleasant and intelligent dog who would make someone who is active a very good pet.

“He’s bright and needs lots of mental stimulation.

“He takes a bit of time to get to know and trust people but adores playing with his tennis balls or playing tug.

“He’s well mannered and will generally drop any toys on command.

“We’d like him to have a home not too full of bustle and where he won’t encounter too many strangers, as Roly likes being around a small number of people he knows and trusts.

“Roly likes his food and titbits, especially cheese, so we believe he would respond well to treat-based training.”

RSPCA Sheffield is open daily, except Wednesdays, from 12.30pm until 3.30pm. The centre is also looking for foster homes.
