Video: Rise in minimum wage

The Government has announced that the minimum wage is to rise by 20 pence an hour from October.

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg discussed the announcement that the national minimum wage is to increase by 20p an hour to £6.70.

A minimum wage of under £3 would be “pretty low even for apprentices”, Nick Clegg said as the Government overruled a pay body to award a significantly bigger rise to people learning on the job.
