It went viral after Shaun Tommy Westbrook started filming armed officers outside a neighbour's house in Spalton Road, Parkgate, where a woman was being held hostage.

They surrounded the property and were heard warning a man inside the house that they would open fire if there was any threat to life.

The officers urged the man to come out of the property with his hands in the air.

He eventually allowed a woman out of the house around 90 minutes after officers arrived, before leaving himself 30 minutes later.

The video shows him handcuffed and led away from the scene by officers.

South Yorkshire Police said a 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and false imprisonment.

During the video, an officer is heard saying: "I want you to come to the front door with your arms up and you will come to no harm.

"If you don't do what we say we are armed police officers. We will respond to whatever you do.

"If you make any attempt to endanger life we will shoot to stop you."
