An undercover film maker has posted a video online of a man who allegedly exchanged explicit text messages with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl.
The film maker, known as the Paedophile Hunter, posed as a 14-year-old girl online and was allegedly befriended by a 26-year-old Sheffield man.
The pair exchanged text messages, in which the man, who The Star has chosen not to name, appears to discuss sex with the girl he believed he was talking to.
Copies of the exchange of texts appear to show the Sheffield man arranging to meet the youngster at the city’s train station and asking if she wants sex with him.
The pair arrange to meet at Sheffield train station, but the film maker, who specialises in raising awareness of online grooming, turns up instead and confronts the man about his motives for wanting to meet the girl.
The Sheffield man denies any wrong doing and calls South Yorkshire Police on his mobile phone to report being harassed.
Today the mum of the man at the centre of the video said he has learning difficulties and described him as a ‘vulnerable adult’.
South Yorkshire Police has not yet commented.
