A vehicle burst into flames after crashing into a wall in Sheffield.
The vehicles collided with the wall of a property in Shirland Mews, Darnall at around 1am this morning before bursting into flames.
The residents were evacuated while the property was assessed by structural engineers and emergency services responded.
Firefighters from Elm Lane and Birley stations were at the scene until 2.40am extinguishing the vehicle.
The building was found to be safe and residents were allowed to return to their homes.
South Yorkshire Police spokesman said no-one is believed to have suffered any injuries as a result of the collision, but the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene.
Shirland Lane was closed to motorists for several hours between the Wilfrid Road junction and the Chippingham Street junction.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious should call police on 101 quoting incident number 29 of August 26, 2015.
