The astonishing clip shows two men clinging on to the back of the single decker bus as it whizzes through Sheffield's suburbs.

The pair can be seen standing on the vehicle's rear bumper and tapping on the rear windscreen of the number 6 service as it travels along Prince of Wales Road in Darnall.

The footage, filmed by a motorist travelling behind the purple bus as it heads in the direction of Sheffield Arena, can be heard commenting on the pair as they cling on as the bus travels down the road, which has a 30mph speed limit.

He says: "There are two guys on a bus, behind. I am filming them. Free bus ride."

The driver, who speaks with an Asian accent, follows the vehicle for a number of seconds, through sets of traffic lights and along the dual carriageway before a red traffic lights stops him from capturing any more of the pair's antics on camera.

The pair, whose faces cannot be seen during the 26 second clip, are wearing what appear to be black and grey tracksuits.
