A man has been left with life-threatening injuries after an incident on a Sheffield road.
Another man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
One person was injured in the incident and has been taken to hospital and South Yorkshire Police have said his injuries are “life-threatening”.
Pitsmoor Road is still closed as of 7pm.
A man on the scene who did not wish to be named said: “I saw a car turn round at the junction and the next thing I know, there were two people being treated on the road by ambulance crews.
“I couldn’t see everything because the ambulance was in the way, but there were two people being treated.
“One of them was put in the ambulance and the other was being treated.”
Bus routes 97 and 98 have been diverted due to incident on Pitsmoor Road via Ellesmere Road and Scott Road.
Yuen Raj, 24, who works at Pitsmoor Off-licence said: I heard that someone ran up alongside the car and pulled a man out of it.”
A police statement said: “An incident was reported to police this evening (Wednesday, 3 June) just before 5.20pm on Barnsley Road close to Pitsmoor Road in Sheffield.
“There was a collision between a white Audi A4 and a man. He was taken to hospital where his condition is described as life threatening.
“The driver of the Audi was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and is currently in police custody.
“Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call the police on 101 quoting incident number 808 of 3 June 2015.”
