VIDEO: Man charged with attempted murder over stabbing in Doncaster

Shocked residents have spoken out after a man was stabbed in a Doncaster village.

A man has been charged with attempted murder following the stabbing in Manor Road, Harlington.

A 41-year-old man suffered multiple stab injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

Speaking about the incident a resident, who did not want to be named said: "I was asleep when it happened but I saw police officers on the street the next day.

"I was really shocked when I found out, it's a quiet street and I've never known of anything like this happening before."

Arthur Richard Jepson, aged 66, of Manor Road, Harlington, appeared at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court yesterday following an incident on Monday.

He has also been charged with production of cannabis.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday, April 7.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “The charges relate to an alleged assault in Manor Road that took place between 11.20pm and 11.35 pm on Monday, March 7."
