VIDEO: Man arrested in drugs raid in Rotherham

The suspect was arrested after police searched a suspected drug production den in Broom Valley Road, Broom.

He is to be quizzed later today.

Chemicals found at the address are being analysed.

A cordon is in place around the property as a safety precaution, with dozens of firefighters on stand-by.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "A man has been arrested on suspicion of drugs production following a police-led operation at an address in Broom, Rotherham.

"The man is in police custody and will be interviewed by detectives.

"Chemicals have been found at the address in Broom Valley Road and are being analysed.

"There are currently no safety concerns.

"The operation is being led by SYP and is supported by officers from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Rotherham Council.

"A cordon remains in place at the scene.

"Thanks to everyone for your patience as we carry out enquiries at the scene."
