A major water leak has led to the closure of a main road in Sheffield.
Glossop Road has been closed from Claremont Place to Upper Hanover Street while repairs are carried out.
Motorists are facing delays in the city centre, with congestion building up on surrounding roads including Upper Hanover Street and West Street.
Sheffield Council announced the closure at around 4am today.
A Yorkshire Water spokesman said: “In the early hours of this morning we were made aware of a significant burst on the nine inch water main in Glossop
“Our technicians attended site quickly and managed to isolate the water main.
“ We believe only a couple of properties are affected and we are working to restore their supplies as quickly as possible.
“We’d like to apologies for the disruption this burst has cased to motorists and pedestrians this morning and assure them that we’re working to open the road again as quickly as possible.”
