Video: James Shield on a 'disappointing end to a disappointing season' as Sheffield United lose to Scunthorpe

The Star's James Shield reflected on a match that summed up Sheffield United's campaign as the Blades lost 2-0 to Scunthorpe in their final game of the season.

Goals from Tom Hopper and Paddy Madden gave The Iron the victory at Bramall Lane on a day in which a 'lap of appreciation' from players to fans at the end was witnessed by just a scattering of supporters.

James said: "What's disappointing for everyone is that they wanted to go out with a bang and instead they've gone out with a whimper. There were a few flurries of excitement if you could call it that but generally it meandered out.

"It was two mistakes which led to Scunthorpe's goals and almost there you could see the entire season condensed into an hour and a half of football."
