The Sheffield Wednesday defender was bowled over by the noise coming from the old stadium as Owls fans hailed their heroes following a 2-0 Championship play-off win over Brighton.

Goals from Ross Wallace and Kieren Lee give Carlos Carvalhal's side the advantage going to the Amex for the second leg on Monday but it was what was going on in the stands around him that made the night all the more memorable for Lees.

"It was absolutely unreal," he said. "It was the best Atmosphere I've played in by a country mile."

"The lads were saying afterwards when all the lights when on (the fans) phones, all round the stadium, it gave us goosebumps. At one point when one side was bouncing, I could see on the pitch, the floodlights were actually moving. I thought, 'Jesus, the stand's going to come down in a minute!'

"That shows how much noise and how much passion there was."
