Floral tributes have been left at the scene of a bus smash in Sheffield city centre in which a teenage girl was killed and a teenage boy critically injured.

Bunches of flowers lined the railings at the scene of Friday's crash in Haymarket in Sheffield city centre, at the junction with Castle Street.

One of the floral tributes was from staff at Shoe Zone, just yards from the crash scene..

Some members of staff had been sent home today (Saturday December 12) as they were too traumatised to work following the incident.

Staff members said the smash was the latest in a long line of crashes and near misses at the busy junction.

Supervisor Stacey Bingham said: "I feel for everyone involved it's terrible.

"Our manager and another member of staff who saw the aftermath of the crash have had to go home today because they're too upset to work.

"We've seen several near misses and crashes here over the years, it's a bad junction, an accident waiting to happen.

"Something needs to be done I think it should be a 20mph speed limit for one and speed bumps and a crossing would help.

"Everyone is just so shocked and upset by what's happened and out hearts go out to everyone involved."

Did you see the collision? It was a particularly busy time of day in the city centre and officers believe there could have been many witnesses.
