Acting legend Sir David Jason has got his first scenes in the can for the new series of Open All Hours in Doncaster.
Filming for the new series got underway in Balby yesterday with cameras due to roll over the next two weeks.
The series, which comes after the success of a Christmas special, sees put-upon Granville having inherited the shop from his miserly uncle Arkwright, played in the original series by Ronnie Barker.
The star filmed scenes with Lynda Baron, who plays Nurse Gladys Emmanuel, comic star Johnny Vegas who plays customer Wet Eric and young actor James Baxter, who plays Granville’s son Leroy.
Crews spent the weekend transforming the tiny Beautique hair salon on the corner of Lister Avenue and Scarth Avenue into Arkwright’s cluttered emporium with members of the public eager to catch a glimpse of the stars in their street.
Fans of all ages snapped away with their phones and cameras from behind a security barrier as filming took place.
