Video: Blades assistant Crosby hails 'fantastic' win for Sheffield United over Walsall

Sheffield United assistant manager Andy Crosby poured praise on the Blades players after an impressive 2-0 win over Walsall at Bramall Lane.

United turned in one of their best performances of the season with a display of high-tempo pressing which never allowed the Saddlers a route into the game.

Chris Basham had them in front, heading in a superb ball from Matt Done and then Billy Sharp fired in again to double the lead in a comfortable first half.

Crosby, standing in on post match press duties due to manager Nigel Adkins suffering from a sore throat, described the win as 'fantastic', coming off the back of that 3-1 defeat to Southend in midweek.

"It was a fantastic win and a fantastic mentality," he said afterwards. "It was a disappointing result for us on Wednesday night. People have written us off but the players have gone out and put on a fantastic performance."

Crosby added: "We got off to a good start and played some really good football and controlled long periods of that game with and without the ball against a team with a fantastic away record, they have played consistently well all season, challenging for automatic promotion and we made them look very ordinary."
