VIDEO: Ambulance called to Sheffield city centre after pedestrian and car collide

Police and ambulance crews were called to a Sheffield city centre road this evening after an accident involving a car and a pedestrian.

A police van, two police cars, an ambulance and an ambulance rapid response vehicle were on Broad Lane, near the crossing, at about 5.15pm.

A South Yorkshire Police statement said: “Officers are at the scene following a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

“The woman has injuries to her arm and ribs, which are not thought to be life-threatening. No roads are closed.”

First Bus has announced it has diverted services away from Broad Lane.

It said in a tweet: “81/82/84/85 Due to incident near West Bar Green - services diverted via Haymarket and Church Street”
