A crackdown by police on prostitution in the Thorne Road of Doncaster area has been extended to include more streets.

Officers have decided to add Beckett Road, Charles Street and Cheshire Road to the area being targeted by the Wheatley Safer Neighbourhood Team.

The move was agreed at a Police and Communities Together meeting.

“It was extended slightly,” a police spokesman confirmed.

Officers have taken action against four men for kerb crawling in the area during the last month.

Last month officers also took action against a number of women stopped in the area. One was remanded in custody pending a court case after she was arrested despite having been given an anti-social behaviour order covering the area.

Three women were arrested for loitering, and 10 given cautions for the same offence.
